Triathlon and Today’s World

We have been trying to speak something meaningful regarding triathlon, but every thought is related to what is going on in the USA.  It is not about the “Wall,” deportations or related subjects, minority groups or Mexicans.  Our worries are related to what we know in History and what Martin Luther King said:
“Not only will we have to repent for the sins of bad people; but we also will have to repent for the appalling silence of good people.”
“If we are not careful, our colleges will produce a group of close-minded, unscientific, illogical propagandists, consumed with immoral acts. Be careful, 'brethren!' Be careful, teachers!”
“Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.”
“Never forget that everything Hitler did in Germany was legal.”

The silence of the institutions is a huge problem.  In Psychiatry, we have the DSM V and we know the prognosis with cluster “B” personality subjects, but we are afraid of looking at the data and problems related to this personality type.  Why are we afraid to confront ourselves with this fact?  Most of our politicians are cluster “B” personality disorders in Mexico, but the scope of what they can reach is very limited; it is not the same for a politician in the USA who could influence the entire world.  The Simpsons appeared to me as a cartoon but Homer is more real now and I question myself, how did I miss to know the Simpsons before this reality show?  I have missed many things but this is a biggie.  I lived in Metropolitan areas in the USA and did see Homers frequently but I never thought they were a majority.

I hope I can recover from this one for the next “post.”
